The Villa Bentota by KK Collection is the first boutique hotel in Sri Lanka converted by architect Geoffrey Bawa. The property features individually designed rooms and suites, each with a unique layout and decor. An on-site art gallery showcases contemporary Sri Lankan artwork from Paradise Road.

Accommodations

Each of the 15 rooms and suites at The Villa Bentota has a unique layout, with some offering balconies or terraces overlooking tropical gardens. The Mohotti Suite occupies the original walauwa on the property, with a four-poster bed and spacious bathroom. Rooms include flat-screen TVs, safes, and tea/coffee making facilities, while select suites feature private plunge pools.

Dining

The Villa Café offers an à la carte fusion menu inspired by renowned Colombo outlets, with both Sri Lankan and international dishes available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests can order customized dining experiences, including traditional Sri Lankan curries and hoppers upon advance request. Meals can also be served in the privacy of guest rooms or on the beachfront terrace.

Wellness & Activities

The hotel has two outdoor swimming pools, including a 23-metre lap pool set within manicured gardens. The spa & wellness centre provides full-body massages, reflexology, and yoga classes with a trained therapist. Guests can access a private stretch of Bentota Beach via the railway crossing at the bottom of the garden, with sun loungers and umbrellas arranged daily.

Weddings & Events

The Villa Bentota hosts intimate weddings for up to 70 guests, with ceremonies on the beach and receptions on the private lawn. The hotel offers custom menus for multi-day celebrations, including welcome dinners, barbecues, and traditional Sri Lankan feasts. Event coordinators on staff manage logistics, from marquee setup to cocktail service, based on guest preferences.
